Pastel accounting and payroll software is now sold and supported by Sage, so there is no separate Pastel call centre. The Pastel name survives in several working web portals that Sage still runs on pastel.co.za, which is where product registration and payments are handled.

Product or service support
The products formerly branded Pastel now sit in the Sage range, which includes Sage Accounting and Sage Payroll for small businesses, Sage HR, and Sage 200 Evolution, Sage 300 People, Sage X3, Sage Intacct and Sage Payroll Advanced for medium and larger businesses. The knowledgebase carries support articles, product documentation, software downloads and updates, which is usually faster than the phone for a licensing or update question.
Eligibility, account or policy requirements
Several legacy Pastel portals remain in service and are the correct destination for specific tasks rather than the general support line: product registration and company detail updates at registration.pastel.co.za, the accounting payment gateway at gateway.pastel.co.za, the reseller zone at zones.pastel.co.za, and the Sage Evolution developer zone at developmentzone.pastel.co.za. Note that the support number is a vanity number: the letters SAGE are dialled as 7243.
Escalation route
Raise a product or licensing problem through the support number or the knowledgebase first and keep the case reference. Sage publishes a separate complaints mailbox at [email protected], which is the route if customer care does not resolve the matter, and a customer care feedback channel for compliments and suggestions. Many Pastel and Sage installations are supported by an accredited reseller or business partner rather than by Sage directly, so if you bought through a partner, that partner is your first line of support.
