Unisa Nelspruit is a Regional Service Centre rather than a campus. Unisa teaches by distance, so the centre exists for support services, not for lectures, and it reports to the regional head office in Polokwane rather than operating on its own.

One caveat worth knowing before you travel across the region: Unisa states that the Makhado centre is not available for face-to-face interaction until further notice. Nelspruit and Middelburg are the walk-in options in Mpumalanga.

Because Unisa is a distance university, the centre supports study rather than delivering it. Registration deadlines, assignment due dates and examination timetables are set nationally and are not extended by a regional office, so treat published dates as fixed.

Keep funding and registration apart in your own mind. A NSFAS allowance problem is not solved by the regional centre even though registration runs through the university, and pursuing it in the wrong place is the most common reason a student loses a semester waiting.
