UNISA contact number and call centre
For general telephone enquiries, the UNISA call centre number is 0800 00 1870. The Student Communication Centre answers this toll-free line from 08:00 to 19:00 Monday to Friday and 08:00 to 14:00 on Saturdays.
Unisa does not publish a general switchboard landline on its Contact us page. It instead gives department-specific landlines where available. Student account enquiries can be made on 012 429 2441 or 012 429 4299, while assignments are handled on 012 429 3710 or 012 429 3958. The UNISA fax number for enquiries is 012 429 4150.
The Contact us page also provides an email form, where all fields are compulsory. Unisa does not publish a WhatsApp number for enquiries. Its Contact us and Student enquiries pages list the toll-free number, fax, email routes and web form only, so treat any “Unisa WhatsApp” number that is not on unisa.ac.za with suspicion.
UNISA email address for enquiries
The UNISA email address for general and misdirected enquiries is enquire@unisa.ac.za. For undergraduate applications, registrations and re-admissions, use study-info@unisa.ac.za.
Unisa’s Contact Us page provides an email form with categories for applications and registrations, assignments, examinations, study material, student accounts, myLife email, EUP1501 enquiries and myUnisa. All fields are compulsory. Unisa asks students to send one enquiry at a time so there is no confusion about who must respond.
If you email a Unisa address directly, its Student Enquiries page says to insert your student number in the subject line so the message can be routed to an advisor. Send the enquiry to one email address only, because sending the same enquiry to several addresses may delay it or cause it to be treated as spam. Only escalate to the Registrar or Deputy Registrar if an enquiry could not be resolved at other levels. Unisa says application, registration and study information is available on unisa.ac.za, while fee payment and examination information is available on the website and myUnisa at my.unisa.ac.za.

If you have changed or lost your cellphone number, Unisa says to use the DSAR03 form. To change your contact number, address or exam centre, complete the form. If you have lost access to your old cellphone number, email the completed DSAR03 form with a copy of your ID or passport to myLifeHelp@unisa.ac.za using the subject “Update my number”.

UNISA payment email and finance contact details

Unisa accepts online Visa or Mastercard payments at unisa.ac.za/feepayment, which it describes as a secure site. For EFT and cash deposits, Unisa is a pre-approved public beneficiary on FNB and ABSA. Use the banking details on Unisa’s official “Unisa payment methods and banking details” page on unisa.ac.za rather than banking details sent by anyone else.
Your payment reference is your 8-digit student number, a space, then the allocation number. Unisa gives 5400374721 for study fees and 5370810030 for the application fee as examples. No cash or cheques are accepted at Unisa offices, and deposits are allocated within 2 to 10 working days. Credit card payments in person are accepted at Sunnyside, Florida or regional offices, as Unisa does not provide cashier services.
Unisa does not offer a separate instalment payment plan application. Its Pay your study fees page describes a minimum payment and a second payment, with amounts forfeited on cancellation. Students with debt from earlier periods cannot re-register until it is settled.
UNISA examination, assignment and postgraduate contacts
