There is no Mweb branch in Cape Town, or anywhere else. Mweb is an internet service provider with no walk-in offices, and it publishes no street address at all, not on its contact page and not in its legal notices. Everything is done by phone, live chat or the app.
How to reach Mweb
- Sales, for new orders and upgrades: 087 700 5000
- Technical support, for anything to do with a line or a connection: 087 700 0777
- Billing, for accounts, debit orders and invoices: 087 700 2121
- Live chat runs on the Mweb website and inside the Mweb app, which is on the Google Play Store, the Apple App Store and the Huawei AppGallery
- These are the same numbers nationally. There is no Cape Town number and no Cape Town counter to visit
The hours differ by team
- Sales: Monday to Friday 07:00 to 18:00, Saturday 08:00 to 13:00. Closed Sunday and public holidays
- Technical support: Monday to Friday 07:30 to 20:00, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays 08:00 to 18:00
- Billing: Monday to Friday 07:30 to 20:00, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays 08:00 to 18:00
- Sales is the only team that closes on a Sunday, so a weekend fault still gets answered but a weekend upgrade does not
Getting to the right team first time
- The three numbers differ only in the last four digits, so read them carefully before dialling
- A billing agent cannot diagnose a line fault and a technical agent cannot reverse a debit order. Working out which of the three your problem belongs to is the single thing that shortens the call
- For a fibre fault, check the outages page on the Mweb site first. If your area already has a logged outage there is nothing a call will add
- Moving house has its own process on the site rather than a separate number, and it needs notice because the line at the new address may be on a different fibre network
If Mweb does not resolve it
- Get a reference number on every contact. Live chat transcripts can be emailed to you and are worth keeping
- Internet service complaints escalate to ICASA, the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa, on 011 566 3000
- For a billing or contract dispute the National Consumer Commission is on 012 065 1940
