Nedbank Greenbacks Contact Details

Greenbacks is Nedbank rewards programme, and it runs on levels. Several of the best earn rates and offers only unlock from level 3, which is why two people with the same card can get very different cashback on the same purchase.

Official contact channels

• Nedbank does not publish a Greenbacks helpline. Use the contact centre, 24 hours: 0800 555 111
• Greenbacks balances, redemption and offers all sit in the Money app and online banking, which is faster than phoning
• Chat to Enbi, the Nedbank 24/7 assistant, in the Money app or online banking
• To stop or block a Greenbacks SHOP Card, or report fraud on it: 0800 110 929
• A branch can help with linking and card issues if the app cannot

How you earn

• You earn on spend with a Greenbacks-linked debit or credit card. The link is what activates earning, not simply holding a Nedbank card
• Nedbank also credits Greenbacks for how you bank, save and borrow, not only for spending
• bp: 25c cashback per litre when you pay with a linked card. Nedbank states this is not valid on Greenbacks SHOP Card payments
• Checkers group stores: up to 30% cashback in Greenbacks, in-store only, from level 3, and exclusive to a Greenbacks-linked American Express card
• Earn rates vary by your Greenbacks level, so the advertised maximum is rarely the rate a new member gets

How you spend them

• Withdraw Greenbacks as cash at any Nedbank ATM using the Greenbacks SHOP Card, or redeem in the Money app
• Avo SuperShop: member-only discounts and up to 2% cashback in Greenbacks
• Greenbacks Travel: up to 80% off selected flights, with the exclusive deals opening from level 3, and a stated allowance of six local and one international ticket
• Nu Metro: up to 60% off Xtreme tickets excluding 4DX, 50% off regular 2D, 3D and VIP, and 50% off selected snacks and combos
• Nedbank Connect offers on airtime, data and calls also carry Greenbacks value

Worth knowing before you count on it

• Read the level rules. The headline percentages in the advertising are the top-level rates and are conditional on the card type as well as the level
• Several partner benefits are tied specifically to the American Express card rather than to any Greenbacks card. Check which card you actually hold
• Terms and conditions are published and do change. Confirm an offer in the app on the day rather than relying on a page you read last month
• Rewards earned are a benefit, not a bank balance. They can be varied or withdrawn under the programme terms
