The Sanlam Money Saver credit card has been closed. Sanlam and RCS jointly decided to shut it down, and after 30 September 2025 cardholders could no longer use the card for purchases or cash withdrawals, including any secondary cards on the account. If you are looking for a contact number, it is almost certainly because you still have a balance, and the number below is the one Sanlam publishes for exactly that.

Money Saver credit card contact

Note that Sanlam own site now redirects to sanlamonline.co.za, and the Money Saver information sits on the Sanlam Reality pages rather than on the main Sanlam site. That is why the product is hard to find from a general search.

The part that catches people out

Closing the card did not close the account. Sanlam states that from October 2025 monthly service fees ceased, with the final service fee charged on the September 2025 statement, but that all other fees and interest associated with the card continue to be billed and that cardholders remain liable to pay them.

So a balance left on a card you can no longer use keeps accruing interest. That is the single most important thing on this page. If you have an outstanding amount, phone 0861 444 352 and ask for a settlement figure in writing, then settle or arrange terms. A closed card that is quietly going into arrears damages your credit record exactly as an open one would.

Questions worth asking on that call

Ask for written confirmation once you have paid in full. A paid-up letter is the document you will want if the account resurfaces on a credit report months later, and it is far easier to get at the time than afterwards.

Who actually holds the account

The card was facilitated by RCS, a registered credit provider and authorised financial services provider, while the Money Saver benefit and the Wealth Bonus loyalty programme are run by the Sanlam Limited insurance group loyalty arm. That split matters: the credit agreement is with the credit provider, so a dispute about interest, fees or a credit bureau listing is a credit matter rather than a loyalty programme one.

Beware of calls about a closed card

A publicly announced card closure is a gift to fraudsters, because it gives them a plausible reason to phone you about your account. Nobody legitimate will ask for your card number, CVV, PIN or a one-time PIN to close an account or to process a refund. Nobody will ask you to pay a settlement into an account given over the phone. If you get such a call, end it and dial 0861 444 352 yourself.

If you cannot resolve it

Put the complaint in writing and keep the reference. An unresolved complaint about a credit agreement goes to the National Credit Regulator, and a disputed listing on your credit record is taken up with the credit bureau and, failing that, with the Regulator. Both are free.
