Debt Restruct Contact Details

Debt Restruct now trades as My Debt Hero. The old debtrestruct.co.za address still resolves but redirects straight to mydebthero.co.za, and the company behind it is My Debt Hero (Pty) Ltd.

My Debt Hero contact details

All three published routes are the same number, used as a WhatsApp line rather than a switchboard. The company publishes no landline and no email address; written contact is through the support ticket form, which is the route it asks existing clients to use.

Choosing the right query type on the form

The support form makes you pick a category first, and choosing correctly is what gets it to the right desk. The options are a statement request, an account query, a debit order query, changing your banking details, creditors still calling you, a complaint, a letter received from a creditor, submitting documents, or another reason. The second step asks for your name, email, ID number and mobile.

  • If creditors are still phoning after you have gone under review, use the “creditors keep calling” option rather than a general query. That is a distinct problem with a distinct fix.
  • A letter from a creditor should be uploaded rather than described. Deadlines in those letters are short.
  • Never change banking details on an instruction that arrives by message. Use the form’s own banking-details option and confirm on the WhatsApp number you already have saved.

Check the registration before you sign

Debt counselling is regulated. The counsellor handling your matter must be registered with the National Credit Regulator and holds a personal registration number in the form NCRDC followed by digits. My Debt Hero does not print an NCR number on its site, so ask for the counsellor’s name and NCRDC number in writing and check that surname on the NCR register at ncr.org.za. Searching the company name there returns nothing even for properly registered firms, because the register matches the individual, so a blank result on the firm name tells you nothing either way.

What debt review actually does

The company’s own summary is that qualifying applicants get a lower monthly instalment, legal protection against creditors and one simplified payment. That is accurate as far as it goes. What it does not say on the front page is that you are flagged at the credit bureaus for the duration and cannot take new credit until you have a clearance certificate. Complaints about a registered debt counsellor go to the National Credit Regulator on 0860 627 627 or complaints@ncr.org.za.
