Vodacom has two stores in Lydenburg and they are not the same kind of shop. One is a franchised dealer trading under its own name, the other is a Vodacom Shop in a mall. Both appear in Vodacom’s own store locator with their own landlines, read on 6 September 2026.

The two Lydenburg stores

  • Lydenburg Cellular – corner Voortrekker and De Clerq Street, Lydenburg, 1120. Telephone +27 13 235 4406. Closed on Sundays
  • Vodacom Shop The Heads Shopping Centre – Shop 25, The Heads, corner Voortrekker and Bushwillow Street, Lydenburg, 1120. Telephone +27 13 235 1636. Open Sunday 08:00 to 13:00

Both sit on Voortrekker Street, about the only thing they have in common. The Sunday difference is the practical one: if a SIM swap or a handset problem lands on a weekend, The Heads is the store that will be open.

What a store can and cannot do

A Vodacom store handles the physical things – SIM swaps and RICA, handset upgrades, contract signing, accessory sales and taking in a device for repair. It cannot reverse a billing charge, restore a suspended line for arrears, or resolve a network fault, all of which sit with Vodacom’s national channels. Walking into Lydenburg with an account dispute means being told to phone, so phone first.

The town has two names

Lydenburg was renamed Mashishing, and both names are in daily use in Mpumalanga. Vodacom’s locator indexes the stores under Lydenburg with the 1120 postal code, so search on Lydenburg if a search on Mashishing returns nothing. The postal code is the reliable thing to give a courier.

Three things to take with you

  • RICA and SIM swaps need your identity document and proof of address in your own name – a store cannot process either without both.
  • A repair booking needs the original proof of purchase, not the box.
  • If the line is in a company or a parent’s name, the account holder has to authorise the change; the store cannot take your word for it.
