Capitec Merchant Support looks after businesses that take card payments on a Capitec card machine: refunds and withdrawals being switched on, declined sales, printer problems, manager changes and pricing. It is a separate team from the personal Client Care Centre and the business banking contact centre. This page covers the merchant line, what it handles and what the card machines cost. Details were read from capitecbank.co.za on 14 September 2026.

ContactDetails.co.za is independent and cannot access a merchant profile. For Capitec’s personal banking lines, see Capitec contact details.

Capitec lists Merchant Support as available 24 hours on both channels. The same number and mailbox handle new sales enquiries: Capitec asks prospective merchants to use them for a personalised quote.

Product or service support

Capitec’s card machine help directs merchants to Merchant Support for these jobs:

  • turning on refunds, cash withdrawals or balance enquiries when the button is missing from the home screen
  • sales that are declined consistently, or a decline reason you do not recognise
  • blank receipts that persist after reloading the paper roll, which may mean a damaged printer
  • changing the registered email address or making someone else the manager

Some things you can fix without calling. A manager resets the PIN under Settings, Manager Profile, Update PIN, and a reset link is emailed. Transaction History shows 100 transactions at a time with a date filter covering up to 90 days, across all your machines. The machines accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners Club, RCS and SASSA cards plus Apple, Samsung and Google Pay; American Express, Diners Club and RCS need a separate sign-up with those companies. QR and card-not-present payments are not available.

Eligibility, account or policy requirements

  • Price: the Pro costs R699 and the Print R1 399, once-off, with no contract or monthly fee. Delivery is free within 3 to 5 working days.
  • Commission (excluding VAT): 1.85% on local cards for monthly card sales up to R50 000, 2.3% on international cards. Local debit card rates fall to 0.85%, 0.70% and 0.60% as monthly sales pass R50 000, R500 000 and R1 million, with credit cards at 1.85%, 1.70% and 1.60%. Capitec adjusts rates after three consecutive months at the higher level.
  • Settlement account: settlements go into a Capitec personal or business account, but a CIPC-registered business must use a Capitec business account. Settlement is next day, including weekends and public holidays.

Escalation route

Log the problem with Merchant Support first and keep the reference. If it is not resolved, use the business banking contact centre on 0860 30 92 50 and quote that reference. If Capitec’s final response does not settle a banking complaint, it can go to the National Financial Ombud Scheme on 0860 800 900 or info@nfosa.co.za.

If you are a victim of a scam involving your business account, Capitec’s contact page asks you to report it to the bank straight away. Do not give your manager PIN to anyone who phones you.
