Nedbank Unit Trust Contact Details

Nedbank unit trusts are run by Nedgroup Investments, which has its own client service centre. That is the number to use for anything about a unit trust account, because the Nedbank banking contact centre cannot see an investment account.

Have these ready when you phone

• Your investor number and the fund name. Unit trust records are keyed on the investor number, not your bank account number
• For a change of banking details, expect verification. Investment houses are strict here precisely because it is the target of choice for fraud
• For a withdrawal, ask about the settlement period. Unit trusts do not pay out same-day, and the price you get depends on the cut-off time your instruction reaches
• For a tax certificate, ask for the IT3(b) and IT3(c). Those are the documents your tax return needs

What to check on a unit trust

• The total investment charge, not just the annual management fee. The fund fact sheet shows both, and the gap between them is real money over time
• Whether there is an initial fee and an adviser fee on top, and whether the adviser fee is once-off or annual
• The fund fact sheet is published monthly and is the authoritative document. Ask for the current one rather than relying on a brochure
• Past performance figures are after fees but before your own tax. A fund that beat its benchmark can still lose to inflation

• Collective investment schemes are regulated by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority. Check that anyone advising you is a registered financial services provider with an FSP number
