Pastel Payroll support

Sage says new Sage Pastel Payroll customers get full email and telephone support in the first year. Pastel Payroll comes as a single-user version for start-ups and small businesses and a scalable version for medium companies. A mobile app lets employees see their leave balances and payslips. Sage lists Pastel Payroll as statutory compliant in South Africa and 18 other countries, including Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho, Eswatini, Kenya, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Sage’s cloud product, Sage Payroll, shows the same number (0861 237 243) at the top of its page and offers online chat, a help centre, how-to videos and the Community Hub. It covers EMP201, EMP501, IRP5 and UIF declarations, starts at R97 a month including VAT for 1 to 2 employees, and has a free 30-day trial. It includes leave management in line with the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, ACB bank payment files, emailed payslips and unlimited companies and users, and Sage says the service is ISO 27001 certified for information security.

Pastel Partner and accounting support

Sage lists 086 123 SAGE (7243) for accounting and payroll queries, which covers Pastel accounting and Pastel Payroll. Before calling, the Support page suggests choosing your product under “Explore support by product” to reach its Resource Centre, with articles, downloads and login. Online-product outages are posted on the Sage Status site.

Old Pastel numbers

Older copies of Sage software can show outdated contact details. In an announcement on Sage’s own Community Hub, a Sage representative said the correct main number for Sage South Africa is 086 123 7243, and advised customers on older versions to update. The same thread explains that 011 304 3333 reaches the sales department for Sage’s cloud Accounting and Payroll products (formerly Sage One and Sage Business Cloud), not general support.

Pastel Payroll add-on modules

Pastel training

Sage University offers live and on-demand training for Sage products, monthly featured accounting courses, and webinars with experts. Sage also publishes Sage Advice articles, such as guides to EMP501 submissions and business loan calculations.
