PinkDrive is a South African non-profit that runs mobile mammography and health screening units, taking cancer screening to people who would otherwise have to travel to reach it. It works through three offices, and the number you want depends on which one covers you.
Official contact channels
- Head office, Johannesburg: 011 998 8022
- Durban office: 060 508 3336
- Cape Town office: 068 945 1264
- Head office address: 3 Susan Street, Strydom Park, Johannesburg, 2194
- Each office also has its own enquiry form on the PinkDrive website
The Durban and Cape Town offices publish mobile numbers rather than landlines. That is normal for a field-based organisation whose staff are often out with the units, but it does mean a call can go to voicemail; the office enquiry forms are the reliable written route.
What this organisation provides
- Mobile mammography units, taking breast screening to communities
- Educational and awareness outreach on breast, cervical, prostate and testicular cancer
- Downloadable health guides, including a breast check guide and material on pap smears
- Corporate wellness days, run through a national wellness co-ordinator
- An Ask an Expert route for health questions
PinkDrive screens and educates; it is not a treatment provider. A screening that finds something is referred onward into the health system, so keep your clinic or medical scheme in the loop rather than treating a mobile unit visit as the end of the process.
Address and operating information
- Head office: 3 Susan Street, Strydom Park, Johannesburg, 2194
- Regional offices in Durban and Cape Town, reachable on the numbers above
- Mobile units travel, so unit locations change and are announced rather than fixed
- Registered as a non-profit company, registration number 2006/009194/08
- NPO number 143-047-NPO; PBO number 930025386
The PBO registration is the detail donors should note. PinkDrive is registered under section 18A, which means a donation can attract a tax certificate. Ask for the section 18A receipt at the time you give rather than trying to reconstruct it at tax year end.
Support and escalation routes
- General enquiries: head office on 011 998 8022 or your nearest regional office
- Events, sponsorship and shop queries go to the operations desk; corporate wellness and business development have their own contacts, each reachable through the site forms
- Screening results and clinical follow-up belong with the referring clinic or your treating doctor, not with PinkDrive
- Complaints about a registered non-profit can be raised with the Department of Social Development, which administers NPO registration
- Concerns about how a section 18A donation was receipted are a matter for SARS
PinkDrive publishes its department contacts as named staff behind enquiry forms rather than as open mailboxes. Use the form for the department you need rather than hunting for a direct address, which is also the fastest way to reach the right desk.
