Rekord’s Pretoria East edition can be reached through the shared newsroom switchboard on 012 842 0300 or at editorial@rekord.co.za. Rekord is a group of free community newspapers covering Pretoria, published by Caxton Local Media, and all its editions share one newsroom address, switchboard and set of mailboxes.

Rekord newspaper contact details at a glance

The news team page lists individual journalists with their own addresses. Those are working mailboxes for named staff rather than desks, and staff move, so they are not reproduced here. Send a tip or a query to editorial@rekord.co.za, which reaches the newsroom regardless of who is on duty, and it will be passed to the right reporter.

Rekord editions across Pretoria

The group publishes hyper local news for Pretoria across editions including Rekord East, Rekord Far East, Rekord Moot, Rekord North, Rekord Centurion, Mamelodi, Rekord West and Rekord Noweto, and states a weekly distribution of 309 400 newspapers across the city. Exact PDF replicas of the editions, carrying both editorial and advertising, are published online alongside the news site. The digital home has moved: Rekord content now sits within the Citizen website rather than on a standalone rekord.co.za site, so an old bookmark may not resolve even though the email addresses on rekord.co.za still work normally.

Rekord newspaper address in Pretoria

The newsroom is at 32 Orpen Avenue in Lydiana, east of the Pretoria city centre. Classifieds and advertising are handled through the site, which carries its own quote request, and those are separate from the newsroom. Sending an advertising booking to the editorial address will delay it.

Complaining about a Rekord story

If you believe something published about you was inaccurate or unfair, ask the newsroom for a correction or a right of reply first, in writing, and be specific about which statement is wrong. That is usually faster than any formal route and most corrections are handled this way.

If that fails, print and online news publishers in South Africa are subject to the Press Code and the Press Council, whose ombud adjudicates complaints from the public at no charge. Complaints run to a time limit measured from the date of publication, so do not let it sit. The ombud deals with the journalism, not with advertising content, and accepting a ruling generally means giving up a parallel court claim on the same facts.
