The toll-free number published by the CCMA, 0860 666 348, is specifically the anonymous fraud and corruption line, not the number for cases or labour disputes. The CCMA call centre number is used nationally. Every provincial office lists the same contact centre alongside its own local switchboard, which means 0861 16 16 16 can be used regardless of the regional office to which your dispute was referred.
For help or information, the CCMA says to call 0861 16 16 16, email info@ccma.org.za or use the form on its locations page. If a case number has already been issued, have it ready because the office handling the case will use it to identify the matter.
CCMA Durban contact details
For CCMA Durban, the regional switchboard is 031-362-2300 and the email address is kzn@ccma.org.za. The Durban office is at 1st & 5th Floors, Aquasky Building, 275 Anton Lembede Street, Durban, 4001. KwaZulu-Natal offices use the provincial mailbox kzn@ccma.org.za.
If you need to request a virtual hearing for a Durban case, the existing CCMA information says to make the request in writing to the regional office at least 10 days before the hearing and copy the other party. For a Durban matter, the written request can go to kzn@ccma.org.za, or you can call the Durban office on 031-362-2300.

CCMA email address, website and online contact

To refer a case online, use the CCMA CMS Online platform at cmsonline.ccma.org.za. Form LRA 7.11 is used for conciliation. The existing page information also says you can download the referral form and email it to your regional CCMA office, with a copy to the other party, or complete it with help at a local CCMA office.
The referral time limits stated on the page are 30 days for a dismissal, 90 days for an unfair labour practice and 6 months for unfair discrimination. The date the dispute arose is therefore important when preparing a new referral.
CCMA online chat and WhatsApp
The CCMA WhatsApp chatbot is on 060 224 2437 and is available 24 hours a day. Send “Hello” to start. The chatbot handles FAQs, complaints and compliments, general enquiries and case-specific queries.
The chatbot also accepts LRA Forms 7.11 and 7.13 and condonation applications. The CCMA is phasing out its CCMA Connect app in favour of the chatbot. The WhatsApp route is also described by the CCMA as a way to reach vulnerable users such as farm workers and domestic workers.
The contact page also provides a Submit Request form attached to each office, giving users a written route when they want a record of the request.
CCMA toll-free number and fraud reporting
The only number the CCMA labels toll-free is 0860 666 348. It is the anonymous fraud and corruption reporting line, run for the CCMA by an external hotline provider. It is not the general case line.

Use these channels to report fraud or corruption involving the CCMA, its employees, users or stakeholders. Do not use the fraud line for an unfair dismissal, wage dispute or hearing date. Those matters go through 0861 16 16 16 or the regional office handling the case.
0861 numbers in South Africa are share-call rather than free, so expect a charge on 0861 16 16 16 even though the CCMA’s own service costs nothing. Complaints about service received go to complaints@ccma.org.za, while reports of misconduct involving a commissioner or official go to 0860 666 348 or behonest.co.za.

Several CCMA offices share provincial mailboxes. All five KwaZulu-Natal offices use kzn@ccma.org.za, the three North West offices use kdp@ccma.org.za, Bloemfontein and Welkom share blm@ccma.org.za, and Emalahleni and Secunda share wtb@ccma.org.za. Put the office name and your case number in the subject line.
The CCMA lists 23 offices. There is no CCMA office in Sandton, Midrand, Bethlehem or Standerton. Witbank is listed under its official name, Emalahleni, and Nelspruit under Mbombela. The Western Cape has two offices, Cape Town and George; Mpumalanga has three, Emalahleni, Secunda and Mbombela.
East London is the one office that publishes no direct switchboard, only the national call centre number. Vryburg is administered from Klerksdorp and shares its private bag.
CCMA Polokwane contact details

Which CCMA office should you contact?
A CCMA case is handled by the office covering the workplace where the dispute arose, not where you live now. If you already have a case number, the office handling it is fixed, and phoning a different regional office will only get you transferred.
CCMA Rule 24 says a dispute must be conciliated or arbitrated in the region where the dispute arose or where the employer’s principal place of business is. If you have not referred a dispute yet, the call centre can tell you which office covers your employer’s address and what the time limits are for your kind of dispute.
CCMA opening hours and correspondence
CCMA offices are open Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 16:30, except public holidays, or as the Commission determines. This includes the Johannesburg office. The WhatsApp chatbot and online referrals work outside these office hours.
Under CCMA Rule 7, documents may be hand-delivered, sent by registered mail or emailed to the office addresses in Schedule One of the CCMA Rules. Documents can be emailed or referred through the official online referral portals at any time on any day. Address correspondence to the regional office handling your case and quote your case number.
On 12 March 2026 the CCMA temporarily closed its George office because of a smoke odour and moved hearings to the Department of Employment and Labour George Labour Centre, 35 Albert Street, George South. Check with the George office on 044 805 7700 before you travel.
How to reschedule, postpone or request a virtual CCMA hearing
To postpone an arbitration, apply in writing to the CCMA, copying the other party, at least 14 days before the hearing. A postponement both parties agree to must reach the CCMA at least 7 days before. Postponement is not a right. With fewer than 7 days left, you need a written application and the Commission decides under Rule 23.
There is no automatic right to an online virtual hearing. Apply in writing to your regional CCMA office at least 10 days before the hearing, copying the other party. Hearings may be held online, for example on Microsoft Teams.
At arbitration, the parties present evidence and arguments, witnesses testify under oath or affirmation, and the hearing is recorded.
CCMA domestic worker contact and Director details
The CCMA does not publish a separate domestic worker desk or number. Domestic workers use 0861 16 16 16, WhatsApp 060 224 2437 or their regional office. The CCMA says its WhatsApp chatbot is meant to reach vulnerable users such as farm workers and domestic workers.
The CCMA does not publish a direct contact for its Director. Mpumelelo Nconco became CCMA Director from 1 April 2026. Correspondence can be sent to the national office at 28 Harrison Street, Johannesburg, or to info@ccma.org.za.
Before you contact the CCMA
Have your case number ready if one has been issued. Without it the call centre cannot look anything up, and it is the first thing asked for.
For a new dispute, have your employer’s registered name and address, your dates of employment, the date the dispute arose and any letter you were given. The date matters because the referral time limits run from it.
Keep the fraud line separate from the case line. Fraud or corruption involving the CCMA goes to 0860 666 348 or behonest.co.za. A service complaint goes to complaints@ccma.org.za. General enquiries and case matters go through 0861 16 16 16, the appropriate regional office or the other national channels shown above.
