What this regulator handles
The SACSSP regulates social workers and child and youth care workers. Annual fees must be paid by 1 January each year, and failure to pay can lead to removal from the Register under section 20(1)(d) of the Act. Existing registrants must complete a Microsoft Form to move their profile to the new online registration system and receive their fee invoice.
Clients and employers may ask to see proof that a practitioner is in good standing, such as a registration card or SACSSP receipt.
Complaints and escalation process
By law the council must receive and consider every complaint of unprofessional or improper conduct against a registered social service professional. Details are on the lodging a complaint page at sacssp.co.za/lodging-complaint. Before you complain, check the practitioner on Find a Professional.
