The Unlimited Claims Contact Details
All Insurance & Medical Aid contactsComplaints & escalation
The Unlimited has one number for everything: 0861 990 000. It is labelled emergencies, customer care and claims, and it runs Monday to Saturday, 7am to 7pm. There is a WhatsApp chatbot available around the clock. We read this on theunlimited.co.za on 24 September 2026.
The Unlimited contact details
| Route | Detail | When |
|---|---|---|
| Telephone | 0861 990 000 | Mon to Sat, 7am to 7pm |
| WhatsApp chatbot | Through the website | 24 hours, 7 days |
| WhatsApp, human agent | Through the website | Mon to Sat, 7am to 7pm |
| Online claim | Claim forms on the site | Any time |
When you call about a claim, ask for the claims team. The Unlimited says so itself, because the same number answers billing, policy and claim calls.
Note there is no Sunday service on the phone. The chatbot answers, but a human will not until Monday.
There is no email address
We looked for one on the contact page, the claims hub and every individual claim page.
The Unlimited does not publish an email address of its own anywhere. Not for claims, not for complaints, not for general queries.
So if you are waiting on a reply to an email, check what address you sent it to. Anything ending in something other than theunlimited.co.za did not come from their published contacts, because they publish none.
The one exception is GAP cover, and that email belongs to a different company entirely.
GAP claims go to Ambledown, not to The Unlimited
This is the routing that catches people out.
A GAP claim is submitted either on the G-App portal or by email to claims@ambledown.co.za. The Unlimited’s own number is for questions and follow-ups, not for lodging the GAP claim itself.
Every other claim type goes the other way round: phone 0861 990 000 to start it, or use the online form.
Have your documents ready before you call
The Unlimited is explicit that it needs everything before a claim can be started, so gathering first saves a second call.
For a natural death claim: a certified copy of the deceased’s ID or birth certificate, a certified copy of the main member’s ID, a certified copy of the death certificate, a copy of the notification of death form known as a DHA-1663, and confirmation of bank details. The DHA-1663 comes from the police, mortuary, funeral home, doctor or medical facility.
If you are a beneficiary you also need your own ID, plus a marriage certificate if you are the spouse. If the deceased named no beneficiary, you need certified proof of appointment as executor or administrator of the estate.
For an accident cash claim: the full hospital statement from a private hospital, or nursing notes, account statement and discharge summary from a government hospital. Plus certified IDs, bank details, and a police or incident report with the case number. An accident at home needs an affidavit from your local police station, and a motor accident needs the patient’s driver’s licence.
For a GAP claim: only four items, being the hospital bill, the doctor’s bill, your medical aid statement and confirmation of banking details.
A live service notice on emergency response
The Unlimited is carrying a service update on its site at the time of writing, and it is worth knowing if you hold its medical or emergency cover.
It says severe weather is affecting emergency medical response times in parts of the Western and Eastern Cape, because of power and network outages, and that its emergency service partners are working to restore full coverage.
That is The Unlimited’s own wording, not ours. If you are in either province, do not assume a normal response time while that notice stands.
Which claim types exist
- Accident cash
- Accidental death
- Natural death
- GAP
- Warranty
- Tyre cover
- Scratch and dent
Each has its own claim form and its own document list on the site. Say which one you are claiming on when you call, because the requirements differ sharply between them.
