BUCO is a South African building materials and hardware retailer, part of The Building Company. The contact details below were read from the BUCO contact page on 1 September 2026.

Official contact channels

The customer engagement number is a mnemonic – 0861 1 SHARE dials as 0861 174 273. Use the digits if your handset does not map letters.

The 021 head office line is a Cape Town geographic number charged as a normal call; the 0861 line is shared-cost.

What this organisation provides

BUCO supplies building materials, roofing and ceilings, tiles and flooring, paint, bathroom and kitchen fittings, shelving and storage, and gardening and outdoor living products, serving both contractors and homeowners.

Stock and pricing are per store, not national. BUCO asks you to select your store before placing an order precisely because availability and price differ by branch. A quote from one store does not bind another, so name the branch in any enquiry.

The contact form carries a store selector listing branches nationwide – from Klerksdorp, Nelspruit and Polokwane through to Sea Point, Tokai and Simon’s Town – so a store-specific query can be routed without going through head office.

Address and operating information

Head office: BUCO, 2nd Floor, Execujet Building, Tower Road, Cape Town International Airport, Cape Town, 7490.

BUCO does not publish call centre operating hours. Branch trading hours differ by store and are listed through the store locator – building suppliers commonly open early and close midday on Saturdays, so check before travelling.

The head office is an administrative address at the airport precinct, not a branch, and does not hold stock.

Support and escalation routes

Take a delivery, stock or quotation issue to the branch first, with the order or invoice number and the store name. Escalate to the customer engagement centre on 0861 174 273 or [email protected], keeping the reference.

For defective materials, keep the delivery note and photograph the goods before use. Building materials are covered by the Consumer Protection Act, and a defect appearing within six months gives you the choice of repair, replacement or refund – but a claim is much harder once material has been installed.

An unresolved consumer complaint can be taken to the National Consumer Commission. A dispute over building work itself, rather than the materials, belongs with the National Home Builders Registration Council where a registered home builder is involved.
