Why an expired domain is a real risk
A lapsed business domain does not go quiet. It gets bought, precisely because it still has visitors and inbound links, and what replaces it is rarely benign.
- Gambling and adult content are the common outcomes, because they monetise stray traffic. Malware and phishing are the worse ones.
