DStv is the satellite television service operated in South Africa by MultiChoice. This page covers the subscriber support channels – the app, WhatsApp, USSD, live chat and walk-in service centres you use to manage an account. For the corporate group behind the service, see the separate MultiChoice page. Everything below was read from the DStv contact page on 31 August 2026.

Official contact channels

The USSD string must be dialled from the cellphone number registered on the DStv account – it identifies you by that number, so dialling from a friend or family member phone will not find your account. The digits 68584 spell MULTI on a keypad, which is a useful way to remember it.

What this organisation provides

DStv provides subscription satellite television across a range of packages, plus streaming through its apps. Most account tasks do not need a phone call at all, and DStv publishes exactly what each self-service channel can do.

The USSD channel handles the four things subscribers most often need: checking what you owe, clearing error codes, viewing transactions, and reconnecting a package after payment. That last one matters – if your service has been suspended for non-payment and you have since paid, *120*68584# will reconnect it faster than waiting in a call centre queue. The MyDStv app and WhatsApp channel cover the same ground with a fuller interface.

Before contacting DStv, have your smartcard number and the identity number of the account holder ready. Error codes displayed on screen, such as those shown when a signal fails, should be quoted exactly – they tell the agent immediately whether the problem is payment, signal or hardware.

Address and operating information

DStv operates walk-in service centres in the following locations, and lets you book an appointment online before visiting:

The Randburg centre is published in full as follows:

Note the mismatch worth planning around: the call centre runs seven days a week until 22:00, but the service centres close on Sundays and public holidays entirely. If you need a physical visit – a smartcard replacement or hardware swap – a Sunday is wasted. Book the appointment first.

Support and escalation routes

Work through self-service first, then the call centre, and ask for a reference number for anything unresolved. Keep the smartcard number and the dates of each contact.

Subscription television in South Africa is licensed and regulated by the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa, which accepts consumer complaints once the operator has had the opportunity to resolve the matter:

A billing or debit order dispute may also be pursued as a consumer complaint under the Consumer Protection Act through the National Consumer Commission. Broadcasting content complaints follow a different route again, through the Broadcasting Complaints Commission of South Africa.
