FNB International Banking Contact Details
FNB handles international payments, forex and non-resident accounts through specialist teams, not the general call centre. The contact details below are the routes this page has listed for those teams. Confirm them in the FNB App or on fnb.co.za before you send documents, because fraudsters target people waiting for money from overseas.
ContactDetails.co.za is an independent directory and is not FNB. For FNB’s general channels see FNB Contact Details.

If you bank on the app, Secure Chat inside the logged-in FNB App is a safe alternative to phoning, because you are already verified.
Which team for which problem
- Money coming in from overseas: the inward payment needs a Balance of Payments (BOP) reason before it is released. Complete it in the Forex section of the app or send it to forex@fnb.co.za.
- Sending money abroad or a rejected SWIFT payment: phone the forex advisory line.
- PayPal withdrawals or linking problems: use the PayPal line or mailbox, not the forex team.
- You live outside South Africa or have emigrated: use the non-resident mailbox.
What to have ready
- Your ID or passport number
- The FNB account the money is going into or out of
- The SWIFT reference or MT103 copy for an incoming payment
- The reason for the payment, which sets the BOP category
Complaints
- Ask the forex team for a reference number and a written answer.
- If that does not resolve it, lodge a complaint through FNB’s complaints process in the app or on its website.
- If FNB gives a final answer you disagree with, you can take the complaint to the National Financial Ombud Scheme (NFO) on 0860 800 900. The NFO replaced the Ombudsman for Banking Services.
Scams aimed at international payments
The common ones are a call from “FNB forex” about a transfer you did not make, and an email with a fake proof of payment asking you to release funds through a link. In both cases hang up or ignore the email, open the FNB App yourself, and check whether anything is actually pending. FNB will not ask for your password, PIN or an OTP. Numbers found in search ads or on social media are not a safe source: take them from fnb.co.za itself.
