Bolt Randburg Contact Details
Bolt has a physical office in Randburg, and it is the one Bolt calls its Johannesburg Driver Engagement Centre. The distinction that matters: it exists for drivers, not for riders, and it is by appointment only.
Local channels
- Driver Engagement Centre, Johannesburg: 29 Bond Street, Ferndale, Randburg
- Attendance is by appointment only, booked through the Bolt driver guide
- Bolt publishes no South African telephone number and no customer service email address
- Rider and driver support otherwise runs through the in-app help section and the online support portal
- The only other centre in the country is in Cape Town
Arrive on time. Bolt states plainly that you forfeit the appointment if you are late, and with only two centres nationally a forfeited slot is not easily replaced the same week.
Address
- 29 Bond Street, Ferndale, Randburg, Johannesburg
- Ferndale is a commercial area of Randburg in the north-western part of Johannesburg
- This is the only Bolt centre in Gauteng
- The Cape Town centre is at 0A Odin Drive, Thornton, Goodwood
- No walk-in facility is published for riders anywhere in South Africa
If you are a rider with a problem from a trip, this address will not help you. There is no counter for passengers; the in-app help section attached to the specific trip is the only route, and raising it against the trip rather than as a general query is what gets it looked at.
Services at this location
- New driver and fleet registrations
- Driver account issues, including blocked accounts
- Adding a new vehicle to an account
- Updating personal information, including banking details
- App onboarding and driver training support
For a new registration with a car, Bolt lists what to bring: a Huru criminal record check, a driving licence with a PrDP, a driver photo, and a cARscan vehicle inspection together with a valid licence disc. Registering without a car drops the vehicle items but keeps the rest.
Parent organisation
- Bolt is an international ride-hailing and delivery platform operating in South Africa
- Drivers contract as independent partners rather than as employees, which shapes what the centre can and cannot resolve
- A professional driving permit, the PrDP, is a legal requirement for carrying passengers for reward and is issued by your licensing authority, not by Bolt
- E-hailing operating licences are issued by provincial transport authorities under the National Land Transport Act
- Complaints about the platform as a service can go to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud on 0860 000 272
- Criminal incidents should be reported to the South African Police Service with the trip details from the app
A blocked account is the most common reason drivers travel to the centre, and it is worth gathering the evidence before the appointment. Screenshots of the block notice, recent trip records and your documents in date order do more than argument on the day.
