The Kingdom Resort is not part of Sun City, is not owned by Sun International and cannot be booked through Sun City. It is a separate Beekman Group resort in the Pilanesberg, and its own website puts it 5km from the Sun City Resort and Casino, with a free shuttle running between the two.

That distinction matters before you dial. A great many people search for this place as Kingdom Resort Sun City and then phone Sun City central reservations, which cannot see a Kingdom Resort booking at all.

Where it actually is

Put the GPS coordinates into your navigation rather than the words Sun City, or you will be routed to the Sun City gates and still have a drive ahead of you. The R556 approach is the one the resort itself gives.

The free Sun City shuttle

The resort runs a free shuttle service to Sun City for its guests. Guests describe it as running hourly and bookable at reception. It is a resort service, so it is arranged with resort reception on arrival, not with reservations when you book and not with Sun City. If a Sun City show, waterpark or casino visit is the reason for your trip, ask about shuttle times at check-in and plan around them.

Booking, and the desk that answers

The 039 number is a KwaZulu-Natal code because Beekman Holidays, the official rental partner, handles bookings centrally. Only 014 552 6917 rings in North West at the resort itself.

Things to sort out before you arrive

If a booking goes wrong

Reservations close at 16:30 and do not open at weekends, so a Saturday problem waits until Monday unless you are already checked in, in which case reception answers until 23:00. Keep your booking reference, and put anything about a refund in writing to [email protected] rather than settling it over the phone.
