Experian Credit Check Contact Details

Verified 16 September 2026Official source onlyIndependent directoryReport a wrong number

An Experian credit check on yourself is free and done online at up.experian.co.za, and the only consumer number Experian prints on its own contact page is a WhatsApp line, +27 79 127 4906. The National Credit Regulator’s register of credit bureaus lists a consumer phone line for Experian, 086 110 5665. We read Experian’s “Free Credit Check and Report” page and its contact page on experian.co.za, and searched the NCR register, on 16 September 2026.

ContactDetails.co.za is an independent directory, not Experian or a credit bureau. We cannot run a credit check, see your report or remove a listing.

Experian states that on-site consumer enquiries are not available at any of its offices, so do not go to Bryanston or Stellenbosch expecting a printed report. The office numbers are the ones Experian lists for its offices; it does not describe them as consumer lines.

What this organisation provides

Experian South Africa (Pty) Ltd is a registered credit bureau, NCR number NCRCB16. Credit providers such as banks, clothing stores and cellphone networks send it account data, and lenders read that data when they decide on an application. Experian calls the free report on Up “an in-house Credit Bureau check” and says any South African citizen with a valid ID number can use it.

According to Experian, the check shows your personal and contact details, your credit accounts, payment history, a budget planner, and negative information such as notices, defaults, judgments and debt collections. The score runs from 0 to 999, and a higher score means a better profile. Experian says race, gender, where you live and marital status are not used to work it out.

Address and operating information

The NCR register gives Experian’s physical address as Ballyoaks Office Park, Extension 7, 35 Ballyclare Drive, Bryanston, Sandton, 2191. Experian publishes no opening hours for consumers because the service is online. Answers Experian gives on its credit check page that people often phone about:

  • To register you submit verification documents: your ID and a proof of residence not older than three months.
  • Checking your own report does not lower your score.
  • Who else can check you: only companies or people with a prescribed purpose under NCR guidelines. Lenders can see how many enquiries other lenders made, but not whether those applications were declined.
  • Employers: Experian says an employer may not refuse you a job over your credit report unless a clean record is an inherent requirement of the job, such as handling cash.
  • Paid-up accounts are kept for five years after the last payment, though the free report shows them for three years.

Support and escalation routes

  1. If something on your credit check is wrong, register on Up and submit a dispute, uploading your ID, proof of address and any supporting document such as a paid-up letter. Experian gives you a reference number once it has everything.
  2. Allow 20 business days. Experian says the disputed entry is hidden from your report during the investigation, and if the lender does not send credible evidence in that time, the dispute is decided in your favour.
  3. If you are unhappy with the outcome and the entry comes from a bank account, Experian refers you to the banking ombud on 0860 800 900, which is now the National Financial Ombud Scheme’s number. For retail and other non-bank entries, it refers you to the National Credit Regulator on 0860 627 627.

Experian stresses that a dispute costs nothing, and asks why anyone would pay a “credit clearing” company to do it. Treat any offer to clean your Experian record for a fee with caution.
