Standard Bank Car Finance Contact Details
Standard Bank car finance, which the bank calls Vehicle and Asset Finance, is on 0860 123 002 for asset finance customer enquiries, and its car finance email address is personalbankinghomencar@standardbank.co.za. Business asset finance is handled by business banking on 0860 109 075. To apply for a car loan, Standard Bank points you to its Banking App, its online form or a branch. We checked all of this on standardbank.co.za on 16 September 2026.
ContactDetails.co.za is an independent directory. We are not Standard Bank, and we cannot approve finance, change an instalment or look up a vehicle account.

A warning about one number: the “how to get it” and “refinance your vehicle” sections of Standard Bank’s vehicle finance page tell you to call 0860 000 000. That is a placeholder, not a working line, and it appears nowhere in the bank’s contact directory. Use 0860 123 002 or the email address above instead.
Product or service support
Refinancing. To change your repayments on a personal car loan, email the car finance mailbox. Standard Bank replies with a unique reference number that opens a secure portal, where you upload what it needs to process the request.
Business asset finance. Businesses can buy or lease commercial vehicles, from delivery vans to heavy trucks, and capital equipment, or get bridging finance for goods being manufactured or imported. Standard Bank also offers wholesale finance and Shari’ah-compliant asset finance. Interest can be fixed or linked to prime, initial and balloon payments are negotiable, and linking the agreement to an Access Finance Account can reduce interest. For restructuring, the business line issues a portal reference number in the same way as the personal route.
Buying at auction. Standard Bank lists nine auction partners for used and repossessed vehicles, including Aucor, Motus, MyCars, Park Village and Bidvest Burchmores, and offers pre-approved auction finance. It warns that it works only with those listed partners, so be wary of anyone else claiming to sell Standard Bank cars. Auction cars are sold voetstoots, and bidders pay a refundable deposit to the auctioneer.
Selling through EasySell. If you cannot keep up with instalments, complete the EasySell Vehicle Finance Agreement and email it to ESAssetLeads@standardbank.co.za with the car’s service history and licence disc. A mandated dealer inspects the car and presents offers, which you may accept or reject. Any shortfall after the sale can be repaid interest-free by debit order, and Standard Bank takes 20% off the shortfall once you have paid 80% of it.
Eligibility, account or policy requirements
Personal vehicle finance runs for 12 to 84 months, can include a balloon payment to lower the instalment, and ownership passes to you after the final payment. Applicants need a South African ID book or smart card, a valid South African driver’s licence, their latest three months’ payslips or bank statements, and proof of residence not older than three months. Approval depends on credit checks and FICA.
The optional cover sold with car finance has its own claim rules. Credit shortfall cover pays the gap between your comprehensive insurance payout and what you still owe, but only on comprehensively insured cars, and you must contact Standard Bank within 30 days of your insurer settling the claim. The car and asset finance protection plan pays up to six months of instalments if you are retrenched, up to 12 months if you are temporarily disabled, and settles the loan on death, dread disease or permanent disability. Finance above R1 million is not covered, and retrenchment benefits have a 12-month waiting period. Protection plan claims can also be started on WhatsApp by sending “Hi” to 064 570 0291, then choosing option 3 (Insurance) and option 1 (Standard Bank Insurance Brokers).
