Makro Credit Card Contact Details

Verified 16 September 2026Official source onlyIndependent directoryReport a wrong number

The Makro credit card is Makro Credit, a store card issued and run by RCS, so account queries go to RCS rather than to Makro. RCS’s Makro Credit page gives 0861 888 009 for setting up or changing a debit order, and RCS customer service is on 0861 729 727 or rcscards@rcsgroup.co.za. Report a lost or stolen card on 0861 729 727, and suspected fraud on 021 597 4970. We read rcs.co.za and the FAQ and payment options pages on makro.co.za on 16 September 2026.

ContactDetails.co.za is an independent directory. We are not Makro or RCS, and we cannot see a card balance, approve an application or block a card.

RCS lists hours for the disputes line only: Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:00, Saturday 08:00 to 17:00, and Sunday and public holidays 09:00 to 17:00. Makro’s own contact page gives no credit account number, and its 0860 600 999 line is for shopping and orders, so start with RCS for anything about the card itself.

Product or service support

Makro’s payment pages list the card two ways: “Makro Credit powered by RCS” for online orders and “RCS: Makro Store Card, General Purpose” at the till. Makro’s FAQ and payment options pages name no bank-issued credit card under the Makro brand.

  • Repayment: revolving credit, or 24 or 36 month budget plans.
  • Where it works: RCS says Makro Credit can be used at more than 100 000 stores, while Makro’s payments page says over 30 000 stores across the RCS network. The two official figures differ.
  • The free Makro Credit App lets you shop online as soon as you are approved, buy airtime, data and electricity, and manage the account. Makro also gives *120*20083# for buying electricity.
  • Paying the account: debit order, the Makro Credit App or Self-Service website, EFT using the bank details on your monthly statement, or in store at partner retailers, which RCS says include Makro and Game.
  • Checking a balance: RCS lists your statement, the app, the Self-Service portal and *120*727*card number*# at 20c per enquiry.
  • Replacing a lost card: after reporting it, visit a Game or Makro store; RCS charges a nominal replacement fee.

Only pay into the bank details printed on your own RCS statement. RCS’s Makro page does not publish account details for EFT and tells you to use the statement.

Eligibility, account or policy requirements

To apply for Makro Credit you must be 18 or older, hold a South African ID or driver’s licence, be employed and earn at least R2,000 a month, and be able to provide proof of income. You apply on the Makro page at rcs.co.za: a short first step gives a provisional answer within seconds, and the full application then asks for proof of income. Once approved, collect the physical card from the store where you applied or from your nearest Makro store.

The credit provider is RCS Cards (Pty) Ltd, registered as NCRCP 38 and authorised as FSP 44481. To close the account, call 0861 729 727 and follow the prompts; RCS sends a settlement letter valid for 5 days, and the account closes only once the settlement amount is paid.

Escalation route

  1. Raise the problem with RCS on 0861 729 727, or use the RCS contact form and choose Complaints as the reason.
  2. For a transaction you do not recognise, call 0861 775 522 and send the signed dispute form or affidavit, a copy of your ID and a copy of both sides of the card, if you still have it, to AllDisputes@rcsgroup.co.za.
  3. If RCS does not resolve it, the National Financial Ombud Scheme handles credit complaints free of charge on 0860 800 900 or info@nfosa.co.za.

The WhatsApp number 066 473 0157 in the RCS website footer belongs to the National Financial Ombud Scheme, not to RCS or Makro.
