The Bonitas BonCap general queries number is 0861 239 333, and the email is PHAQueries@bonitas.co.za. BonCap is Bonitas Medical Fund’s income-based network option; it shares its contact channels with the BonCore option, separate from Bonitas’s other plans.

Official contact channels
On the Bonitas support page, BonCap has its own “BonCap & BonCore” tab. Use these routes, not the “All Other Plans” numbers:
- General queries: call 0861 239 333, email PHAQueries@bonitas.co.za or WhatsApp 076 172 3151.
- Hospital authorisations: call 0860 002 108 or email hospital@bonitas.co.za.
- Ambulance: call 0860 555 505. Give your name, telephone number and medical aid number.
The WhatsApp number printed in the March 2026 BonCap brochure differs from the one on the live support page. Use 076 172 3151, which is the number on the support page and on the transition banner.
What BonCap provides
BonCap is a network option: members use specific GP, specialist, hospital, pathology and pharmacy networks and formularies. You can find network providers through the BonCap and BonCore provider networks page at bonitas.co.za/networks-boncap-boncore/.
- GP visits: unlimited network GP or registered-nurse consultations, with approval needed from the 8th consultation per beneficiary.
- Specialists: network specialist visits need a referral from a BonCap network GP and pre-authorisation, up to 3 visits or R4 060 per beneficiary.
- Contributions: 2026 contributions are banded by income. A main member earning R0 to R11 930 pays R1 730, and one earning R25 171 or more pays R4 177, subject to income verification. Dependants up to age 24 pay child rates.
Note that the Bonitas Member App excludes BonCap and BonCore members, so use the phone, email or WhatsApp routes above.
Address and operating information
Bonitas lists BonCap and BonCore service points in 17 towns. Two examples from the support page:
- Johannesburg: Shop 169 Newton Junction, 100 Carr Street, Newtown
- Pretoria: Shop 0037A Nedbank Plaza, 361 Steve Biko, Arcadia
The support page does not publish office hours for the BonCap lines.

Start with the general queries line, 0861 239 333, or PHAQueries@bonitas.co.za. For a planned hospital stay, get authorisation first on 0860 002 108 or hospital@bonitas.co.za. For a specialist, see your network GP for a referral and get pre-authorisation. Bonitas does not publish a separate BonCap escalation line on its support page, so keep a record of your query and reference numbers when you follow up.
