Official Old Mutual Money Account route
Old Mutual’s Money Account page now carries a closure notice rather than product information. It gives two sets of contacts:
- Closure assistance: the notice asks you to visit your nearest Old Mutual branch or contact Customer Support on 0860 000 886.
- Unclaimed money: the FAQ lists email to MoneyAccountSupport@oldmutual.com, “Chat to us” on 0860 445 445, a call to 0860 222 252, or a visit to your nearest branch.
The page publishes two different support numbers for the same closure, 0860 000 886 in the notice and 0860 222 252 in the FAQ. Both are official Old Mutual numbers, so use either. The old cellphone banking updates page now redirects to the same closure page.
Money Account closure support
As of 1 September 2026 the Money Account is closed. You can no longer access the account or transact on it. Before the closure, Old Mutual told customers to move their money, salary and debit orders, and it points them to the OM Bank app, available for Android, Apple and Huawei, or to a branch.
Any money left in a closed account remains available. Old Mutual says its support team will guide you through retrieving it:

Eligibility and account requirements
You cannot open a new Money Account, because the product has closed. The retrieval route is for former Money Account holders with money still in the account. Old Mutual’s closure page does not list the documents needed, so ask when you contact support or visit a branch. For a new transactional account, Old Mutual directs customers to OM Bank.
Escalation route
Old Mutual does not publish a separate escalation line for the Money Account. If the email or phone route does not resolve your query, visit a branch in person and keep a record of each contact. The Money Account was offered by Old Mutual Limited, registration number 2017/235138/06.
