If you search FNB for a short term loan you will not find one. FNB lists the product as a Temporary Loan, and that naming difference is why the contact route is hard to find.

The temporary loans desk is open Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 17:00 and, unusually for a lending desk, on both Saturday and Sunday from 08:00 to 14:00. That weekend cover matters for a product people typically need at short notice.

Eligibility, account or policy requirements

A temporary loan is a short term facility extended against an account you already hold, rather than a new personal loan agreement negotiated from scratch. It is also distinct from an overdraft, which is a standing facility on the account rather than a separate advance. Because it is credit, an affordability assessment applies.

Escalation route
