Ampath accounts: queries and payments
You can send an accounts query through the Account Enquiries form at ampath.co.za/accounts. The form asks for the patient’s name and ID number, the guarantor’s name, the account number, the statement date, a contact telephone number and an email address. Ampath accepts payments in the following ways:
- Credit card: pay online at ampath.co.za/ccpayments using your account or invoice number.
- EFT: after paying, email your proof of payment to proofofpayment@ampath.co.za or fax it to 012 682 2700/1/2.
- Post Office: pay at any Post Office using the Post Office reference code printed on the front of your statement.
- Pay@: pay through Pay@ Online.
- Debit order: download the debit order authorisation form, complete it and email it to custcare@ampath.co.za, or fax it to the Debtors Department on 012 682 2700/1/2.
Ampath bank details for EFT payments
We do not print Ampath’s bank account numbers here, because copied account numbers are used in payment scams. Pay using the banking details on the EFT Payments page on ampath.co.za or on your Ampath statement. Ampath gives the beneficiary name as Drs Du Buisson Kramer Swart Bouwer Inc. Use your Ampath account number as the payment reference. For refunds, Ampath has separate forms for South African and international bank accounts, both linked from its accounts pages.
Ampath lab results
Ampath gives three ways to get your laboratory results:
- From your doctor: Ampath says this is the preferred way.
- Online: through the Ampath Patient Results App. You need your South African ID number or passport number to register.
- From an Ampath depot: collect a copy in person, bringing your ID or passport.
When your results become available depends on how long ago the test was done:
- Tests done less than 9 days ago: results are released 48 hours after the laboratory completes the test, once your doctor has authorised them.
- Tests done more than 9 days ago: results are available without your doctor’s authorisation.
- Tests that need interpretation: some results can only be given to you by your doctor, in person. Ampath says it will tell you if this applies to your results.

Ampath Trust and Ampath pathology
Ampath is the trading name for a group of amalgamated pathology practices and works under the direction of more than 140 pathologists. Its PAIA manual lists the group entities as The Ampath Trust (IT190/92), The Ampath Holdings Trust (IT3012/97) and Drs Du Buisson, Kramer, Swart, Bouwer Incorporated (2007/018337/21).
