Discovery Insure claims contact number
Discovery Insure does not use a separate claims phone line: call 0860 751 751 to start a claim, or email insureclaims@discovery.co.za. If anyone is hurt or you are in danger, call Discovery 911 on 0860 999 911 first. Discovery lists these ways to start a claim:
- Discovery app: take photos of the accident scene and capture the other driver’s and witnesses’ details, then send them to start your claim.
- Auto Claims: submit geyser, vehicle glass, cellphone and electronic equipment claims to Discovery’s automated claims agent online or in the app; Discovery says these can be approved within minutes.
- Website: log in and start your claim, and a claims adviser will contact you to continue the process.
- Financial adviser: your adviser can submit the claim and take you through the process.
- Phone: call 0860 751 751.
Once a claim is open, you can track its progress online with ClaimsView.
DQ-Track and Discovery Insure hours
Discovery’s contact page gives general query hours of 08:00 to 18:00 on weekdays and Saturdays, so a Saturday call is possible for policy questions and claims. Bookings for the installation of a DQ-Track device, or questions about how it works, use the same number, 0860 751 751, but only on weekdays from 08:00 to 18:00. Travel insurance runs shorter hours, weekdays 08:00 to 17:00. For small-business cover, Discovery Business Insurance has its own general queries line on 011 529 6620. When you call, have your ID number and policy number ready so the agent can verify you before discussing the policy.
Discovery Insure email address
Discovery publishes a separate mailbox for each kind of query. Questions about your policy or Vitality Drive go to vitalitydriveinfo@discovery.co.za, and the Discovery Insure contact centre also uses insureinfo@discovery.co.za. Claims go to insureclaims@discovery.co.za and complaints to insurecomplaints@discovery.co.za. Travel insurance queries are handled separately at travel.service@discovery.co.za. Include your policy number and, for a claim, the claim reference, in every email.
Discovery Insure complaints
Discovery encourages you to raise a complaint with the Discovery Insure contact centre on 0860 751 751 or by email to insurecomplaints@discovery.co.za. You can also write to PO Box 3888, Rivonia, 2128, or send post to Freepost DN298, Umhlanga Rocks, 4320. If the complaint is not resolved, Discovery lists the Ombudsman for Short-Term Insurance, now part of the National Financial Ombud Scheme, on 0860 800 900 or info@nfosa.co.za, and the FAIS Ombud on 012 470 9080 or info@faisombud.co.za for complaints about a financial adviser. Discovery Insure and other Discovery products
Discovery Insure covers car and home insurance, including buildings, household contents and portable possessions, alongside the Vitality Drive rewards programme and Discovery 911 safety devices. Discovery Health, Discovery Life and Discovery Bank have their own contact numbers, so use 0860 751 751 only for your Discovery Insure policy.
