The Hollard funeral policy contact number is 0800 935 465, which is toll free and covers both general enquiries and claims. Enquiries go to mypolicy@hollard.co.za and claims to mypolicyclaims@hollard.co.za. Hollard publishes this number for funeral, life and legal insurance alike, and the mailbox is what routes you to the right team. Everything below was read from hollard.co.za on 24 September 2026.

One number, three kinds of policy

Hollard publishes the same number for funeral insurance, life insurance and legal insurance, for both enquiries and claims. Say at the start of the call which product you hold, because the person answering covers several. By email the mailbox is what routes you: a funeral claim goes to mypolicyclaims@hollard.co.za, a life claim goes to lifeclaims@hollard.co.za, and general enquiries on any of the three go to mypolicy@hollard.co.za. Legal insurance is the odd one out: Hollard gives mypolicy@hollard.co.za for legal claims too, not a separate claims address.

Claiming on a Hollard funeral policy

Use the claims mailbox, mypolicyclaims@hollard.co.za, rather than the general one; it exists specifically so that claims are not queued behind enquiries. Have the policy number, the deceased’s identity number and the death certificate available. A funeral claim is time-sensitive in a way most insurance claims are not, so telephone on 0800 935 465 as well rather than relying on email alone.

Hollard undertakes to respond to enquiries, complaints and compliments submitted through its online forms within 48 business hours. The wording is business hours, not calendar hours, so a Friday submission may not be answered until the following week.

Car, home and pet cover is no longer Hollard

Hollard directs anyone needing help with car, extended car warranty, home contents, buildings or pet insurance to Dotsure Limited, and states that Dotsure is a separate licensed non-life insurer in which Hollard holds a shareholding. So 0800 935 465 will not help with a car claim; that is a different company with its own contact details, even though Hollard sends you there.

Hollard Investments is also separate, on 0861 000 107 with its own mailbox at customercare@hollardinvestments.co.za and a fax on 011 351 3816.

Calling Hollard from outside South Africa

In its Investments section Hollard gives the number for calls from outside South Africa as +27 351 5000, which is too short to dial because it is missing the area code. Hollard’s own head office block gives the correct form a little further down the same page: +27 11 351 5000. The 11 is the missing part, and it matches the 011 351 3816 fax number listed alongside it. Use +27 11 351 5000 from abroad.

Which Hollard company holds your policy

Hollard is several licensed companies, and your policy document will name the specific one. A funeral policy is a life product, so it normally sits with Hollard Life Assurance Company Limited, registration number 1993/001405/06, rather than with The Hollard Insurance Company Limited, registration number 1952/003004/06, which is the non-life business. That distinction matters if you are writing formally or checking a licence, though for an ordinary claim the same 0800 935 465 reaches the right team either way.

The fraud line is for suspicious, criminal, fraudulent, non-compliant or unethical behaviour. Hollard states that a report is confidential and received by an independent team, which is why the email address is on an outside domain rather than on hollard.co.za. A concern about how a claim was handled goes to the complaints form; a concern that someone is acting dishonestly goes to the hotline. Hollard also publishes a branch and support centre finder, and a broker finder, on the same site.
