The mistake iWYZE itself warns about is cancelling car insurance by simply stopping the debit order. Stopping payment is not a cancellation. It leaves a policy on record in arrears, and if the car is financed it can put you in breach of the finance agreement without you realising it. Cancel by speaking to iWYZE, and get the cancellation confirmed. Read from iwyze.co.za on 13 September 2026.

Official contact channels

  • Old Mutual iWYZE: 0860 93 94 93
  • The wyze HUB app and the customer login on iwyze.co.za, for documents, claims and policy details
  • WhatsApp and emergency options, linked from the top of every iwyze.co.za page

Cancelling properly

  • Call 0860 93 94 93 and say you want to cancel, giving your policy number
  • Ask for the cancellation date and for written confirmation by email
  • Only after the confirmation arrives, cancel the debit order with your bank if a premium still goes off
  • Keep the confirmation. It is your proof if a premium is collected later or the finance house asks for proof of cover

Three things to check before you cancel

A financed car. iWYZE points out that virtually every vehicle finance agreement requires comprehensive cover until the car is paid off. Cancelling without replacement cover can breach the agreement, and the bank can then insist on its own, usually more expensive, cover or take further action. Arrange the new policy before the old one ends.

Your claims record. Cancelling often, or letting a policy lapse, can push you into a higher risk category with the next insurer. Moving to a new insurer with no gap is not the same as a lapse.

Other iWYZE policies. iWYZE also sells home, life, legal and gap cover, and bundles them. Say which policy you are cancelling, so that only the car cover ends.

Support and escalation routes

If iWYZE keeps collecting premiums after a confirmed cancellation, complain in writing with the confirmation attached. An unresolved complaint about a non-life insurer goes to the National Financial Ombud Scheme on 0860 800 900.
