MiWay WhatsApp number
MiWay’s WhatsApp number is the same as its main number, 0860 64 64 64. On the contact page it appears as “Text us on WhatsApp 27 860 64 64 64”. Messaging on WhatsApp gives you a written record of your conversation, which is useful when you are dealing with a claim. MiWay also recommends its app for managing a policy, getting help from its team and submitting claims.

MiWay emergency and roadside assistance
MiWay gives its clients free emergency help at home or on the road, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on 0860 07 67 64. The same number is used to book MiWay’s WeDrive service in advance. If you are in an accident, the emergency alert feature in the MiWay app alerts MiWay immediately so it can send emergency services to your location. In a medical emergency, call 10177 or 112 as well.
MiWay call me back
If you would rather not wait on the line, the contact page has a call-back form. Enter your first name, surname, contact number and email, choose what the call is about and add a message, and MiWay will get back to you. MiWay’s form notes that submitting it gives consent for MiWay to process your details for a quote.
Complaints, compliments and fraud
To send MiWay a complaint or compliment, use the “Have Your Say” option on its contact page rather than repeating your query on the main line. MiWay also invites clients to rate it on Hellopeter.
There are two separate fraud routes:
- Fraud, corruption, misconduct or unethical behaviour at MiWay: call or WhatsApp 0860 004 007 toll-free, email miway@behonest.co.za, or visit behonest.co.za. This runs through an independent reporting service.
- Insurance crime generally: the South African Insurance Crime Bureau, an industry body rather than MiWay, on 0860 00 25 26 toll-free, insurance@fraudline.co.za, or SMS 32269.
If a short-term insurance complaint is still unresolved after MiWay’s own process, the independent National Financial Ombud Scheme handles insurance disputes free of charge on 0860 800 900.
What MiWay covers
MiWay is a direct insurer, so you deal with MiWay rather than a broker. Its car cover options include comprehensive cover, third-party fire and theft, total loss cover and third party only.
