MiWay life cover is sold by MiWayLife, which is a separate business from the MiWay you buy car and home insurance from. It has its own website, its own call centre and its own address, and phoning the MiWay short-term number about a life policy will get you transferred.

Claim forms you will be asked for
MiWayLife publishes its claim paperwork for download rather than posting it out, which saves several days at the start of a claim. The set is the death claim application, the funeral claim form, the medical attendant form, the MiWayLife claims consent form and the police report. Sending the completed set to [email protected] with the policy number in the subject line is faster than starting on the phone.
Who underwrites it
MiWayLife is a division of Sanlam Life Insurance Limited, registration number 1998/021121/06, and an authorised financial services provider under FSP 45741. The product range is MiLifeCover, MiFuneral, MiLittleLife, MiFitLife and MiWill. Eligibility, cover and benefits are set on individual risk profile, which is why a quote from the calculator on the site is an estimate rather than a price.
If MiWayLife does not resolve a claim
- Use [email protected] first and ask for a written outcome — an insurer must give you one before you can escalate.
- The National Financial Ombud Scheme handles long-term insurance disputes once the insurer’s internal process is exhausted.
- For advice or mis-selling rather than a claim decision, the FAIS Ombud is the correct office.
