MiWay funeral cover is sold as MiFuneral by MiWayLife, which is a separate business from the MiWay that insures cars and homes. It has its own number, its own website and its own mailboxes.

Product or service support

Support runs from 08:00 to 18:00. MiFuneral is sold as a fully digital product covering a whole family on one plan, alongside MiLifeCover for life insurance and MiWill. Car, home and business insurance stay with MiWay on 0860 64 64 64, so calling that number for a funeral policy sends you to the wrong company.

Eligibility, account or policy requirements

Note the two digits that separate them: MiWayLife is 0860 64 54 33 and MiWay is 0860 64 64 64. The mailboxes also sit on a go.miwaylife.co.za subdomain rather than the plain domain, so copy them exactly. Buying and claiming happen on a third address, miwaylifedirect.co.za, which is where the online purchase and the MiFuneral claims journey live.

Escalation route

Complaints have their own mailbox, Complaints@go.miwaylife.co.za, and should go there rather than to the general enquiries address. If MiWayLife does not resolve a funeral policy complaint, it is a long term insurance matter for the National Financial Ombud, while advice given at the point of sale is a matter for the FAIS Ombud.
