OUTsurance’s contact page separates new business from service. Use the number that matches what you need:
- New funeral plan (sales): 08 600 60 000, Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 19:00, Friday 08:00 to 18:00, Saturday 08:00 to 13:00 and public holidays 08:00 to 17:00. You can also fill in the online quote form on the funeral plan page and an advisor will phone you back with your premium.
- Funeral claims: 08 600 70 000, Monday to Friday 07:00 to 18:00, Saturday 08:00 to 13:00 and public holidays 08:00 to 17:00.

Funeral plan benefits and support
You choose a cover amount of R30 000, R50 000, R75 000 or R100 000. The plan includes these automatic benefits:
- A R5 000 stillborn benefit, after 26 weeks.
- A premium waiver for three months after a valid claim on the main life insured.
- Repatriation within South Africa when the funeral home is more than 100km from the place of death.
Optional cash benefits of R5 000 each can be added for transport, after tears, a tombstone, catering and a marquee.
Eligibility and policy requirements
One plan can cover the main life insured, a spouse, up to eight children, your own parents and your parents-in-law. The main life insured needs a valid South African ID number.
OUTsurance’s “pause and play” option lets you pause premiums for up to 3 months at a time, up to three times over the life of the policy, and only once you are out of any waiting period. There is no cover while premiums are paused.
How to claim on OUTsurance funeral cover
- Start the claim in the OUTsurance App or the MyOUTsurance client portal, or call a claims advisor on 08 600 70 000.
- Track the claim with the claims tracker in the app or client portal.
- Deal with the claims advisor allocated to you, who is your point of contact until the claim is finalised.
