Which OUTsurance number to call

OUTsurance’s three main numbers differ only in the middle digits, so check before you dial. The 60 000 number is Sales, for starting a quote. The 70 000 number is Client Care and Claims, for anyone who already has a policy. The 80 000 number is Help@OUT, for emergencies on the road or at home. OUTsurance’s contact page says that for the fastest response you should call 08 600 60 000 or 08 600 70 000, and that you may also contact your OUTsurance broker directly if you took out cover through one.

One thing to watch: when we checked on 14 September 2026, the “08 600 60 000” number shown in the header of outsurance.co.za was linked to dial 0860 060 001, while the Sales number on the contact page itself dials 0860 060 000. If you are on a phone, type the number yourself rather than tapping the header link.

OUTsurance email address in South Africa

OUTsurance lists cc@out.co.za as its “mail option” for clients, after its phone lines and your broker. Every official OUTsurance address on the contact page ends in out.co.za, apart from the independent whistleblowing mailbox, outsurance@tip-offs.com. Keep in mind that OUTsurance’s FAQ says there are no claim forms: all claims are registered over the phone, and calls are digitally voice recorded instead of using paperwork. To report a claim, call 08 600 70 000 or use the app or the MyOUTsurance portal rather than emailing.

Can OUTsurance call me back?

OUTsurance’s FAQ says that if you have lost your facility document you can phone Client Care on 08 600 70 000 or load your request online and OUTsurance will call you back. That link now leads to the Clients section of outsurance.co.za, where you can amend your policy, submit a claim, download insurance documents or find an inspection centre, and which again gives Client Care on 08 600 70 000. For a new quote, use “Start a quote” on the website or app. OUTsurance’s contact page does not list a separate call-me-back number, so the quickest way to speak to someone is still to call Sales or Client Care during office hours.

The OUTsurance App and MyOUTsurance

OUTsurance suggests using the OUTsurance App, on the App Store, Google Play and Huawei AppGallery, or the MyOUTsurance client portal before calling. Both use the same OUT ID login and let you view and update your policy and personal details, request policy documents, submit a claim and follow it on the claims tracker, and start a quote. The app also handles geyser and windscreen claims end to end, digital vehicle inspections with a few photos, adding new items to OUT-and-About cover, and SmartDrive, which OUTsurance says can earn a 10% vehicle premium discount.

Help@OUT emergency assistance

Call 08 600 80 000 at any hour for Help@OUT. For car clients, OUTsurance arranges towing and covers towing and storage costs, and for a flat battery, flat tyre or keys locked in the car it pays the call-out fee and the first hour of labour. If you break down more than 50 km from home, it arranges overnight accommodation or alternative transport. At home, it sends a locksmith, electrician, plumber, tree feller, beekeeper, builder or glazier, paying the call-out fee and first hour of labour, and a security guard for a 12-hour shift if an insured incident left your home unsecured. Roadside and home assistance each have annual limits of R5,000 and a maximum of two incidents, and Help@OUT is not included in Essential OUTsurance. OUTsurance’s FAQ says using Help@OUT does not affect your OUTbonus. The app’s Panic Assistance button also sends the nearest medical or armed response unit to policyholders, at no extra cost.

Claiming from overseas and paying premiums

If you need to claim while abroad, OUTsurance’s FAQ says to call +27 12 673 3000 or give OUTsurance the name of a contact person in South Africa who will handle the claim for you. Premiums are paid by debit order only; OUTsurance does not accept premium payments over the internet. If your bank returns a premium, you have a grace period of at least 15 days, and OUTsurance re-submits the debit order automatically. It cannot debit a double premium the next month, so a month without a paid premium is a month without cover.

Scams, fraud and complaints

OUTsurance says it will never ask you to confirm banking details or other sensitive information by email or online. If a message looks suspicious, forward it to reportscams@out.co.za, or check it with the fraud line on 08 601 02 117 (Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:00, with messages taken 24/7) or reportfraud@out.co.za. If you have already shared banking details, contact your bank immediately. Fraud can also be reported anonymously to the independent whistleblowing line on 0800 204 855. Feedback about OUTsurance’s compliance with the FAIS Act or the Policyholder Protection Rules goes to +27 12 688 6800 or compliance@out.co.za. For other complaints, start with Client Care on 08 600 70 000 or cc@out.co.za.
