The official Standard Bank hospital cash plan route
Standard Bank’s contact page lists hospital cash plans together with personal accident cover. If you already hold one of these plans, call health insurance services on 0860 123 999 or email sbibmdr@standardbank.co.za. The same number takes health insurance quotes.
The Personal Accident Plan page also has a “Let us call you back” form where you can choose a servicing request, a claims request or a new quote.
Claims and product support
Personal accident claims have a dedicated line on the contact page, 0860 123 444, and an email address, silmdrclaims@standardbank.co.za. The Personal Accident Plan product page, however, says to call 0860 123 999 to claim. Either number is Standard Bank’s own; your policy documents set out the full claim detail.
The Personal Accident Plan, the product Standard Bank currently markets in this category, pays a lump sum for accidental death or permanent disability of up to R1.5 million. R100 000 of cover starts from R40 per month, and premiums depend on the cover amount. There is no medical exam, acceptance is guaranteed and the cover applies worldwide, 24/7. It can also cover your family and domestic employees (up to R30 000).

Escalating an unresolved hospital plan query
Standard Bank does not publish a separate escalation line for hospital cash plans. Put an unresolved query in writing to sbibmdr@standardbank.co.za, or silmdrclaims@standardbank.co.za for a claim, so there is a record. Compare other hospital cash and accident cover in the insurance directory S listings or the insurance and medical aid hub.
