Standard Bank lists its physical address as 5 Simmonds Street, Selby, Johannesburg, 2001; no separate insurance office address is published. Standard Bank insurance claims: which number applies
For car and home contents claims, Standard Bank’s product pages say to call your insurance provider directly, but they give different numbers for the same insurer. King Price is 0860 005 500 on the home contents page and 0860 505 050 on the car and home page, and Standard Insurance Limited appears as 0860 109 459, 0860 123 444 and 0860 123 999 on three different pages. Only Hollard’s 0860 000 351 is identical everywhere.
Policies can also be managed on Insurance Online, reached through Sign into your accounts on standardbank.co.za, and in the Standard Bank Insurance App, which Standard Bank says handles quotes, new policies and claims for car and home cover.
Who underwrites Standard Bank insurance
Standard Bank’s car, home contents and building insurance pages name Standard Bank Insurance Brokers (Pty) Ltd, registration 1978/002640/07, an authorised financial services provider (FSP 224) within the Standard Bank Group. As a broker it says it sources up to five quotes from Auto & General, First For Women, Hollard, King Price and Standard Insurance Limited. Standard Bank’s list of personal product suppliers also names AIG Life South Africa, Liberty Group and The Hollard Insurance Company, and describes Standard Insurance Limited (registration 1993/007593/06) as a registered short-term insurer.
