Nedbank publishes no number for credit limit increases. The request goes through the general contact centre, online banking or the Money app, and it is not a routine adjustment.
Official provider route
- Nedbank contact centre, toll free and 24 hours: 0800 555 111
- Or request through online banking or the Money app
Product or service support
A limit increase is treated as new credit rather than as a change to an existing arrangement. That is why it takes longer than callers expect and why the answer is not given immediately on the call.
Eligibility, account or policy requirements
Under the National Credit Act a credit provider must reassess affordability before increasing a limit, so income and expense information is required again even on a long standing account. A limit cannot lawfully be raised simply because an account has been well conducted, and an increase you did not ask for cannot be applied automatically without your consent.
Escalation route
If a limit increase is declined, that is the credit provider exercising its discretion. Complaints about how the assessment was conducted go to the National Credit Regulator on 0860 627 627, and complaints about the bank conduct to the National Financial Ombud Scheme on 0860 800 900.
