There are two Makro outlets at the Amanzimtoti address, the main store and a separate Makro Liquor, and they do not keep the same Sunday hours. That difference is the thing most likely to catch you out.

Neither outlet has its own telephone number. Makro runs contact centrally and publishes these same three routes against every store in the country, so there is no number that rings inside the Amanzimtoti building. Say which store you mean when you call, and say whether you mean the main store or the liquor store, because they are separately stocked.

12 Arbour Road, Umbogintwini, eManzimtoti 4126. Both outlets share that address. Note that it is in Umbogintwini rather than in central Amanzimtoti, which matters if you are navigating by suburb name rather than by street.

The liquor store opens an hour later on a Sunday and closes half an hour earlier. That is not an arbitrary choice: liquor trading hours are set by provincial liquor licensing rather than by the retailer, so a Sunday trip that works for groceries can arrive before the liquor store has opened.
Services at this location
The main store carries the usual Makro warehouse range, groceries, general merchandise and appliances, on a bulk and trade basis as well as ordinary retail. The liquor store is licensed separately, which is why it is listed as its own outlet on the store finder rather than as a department.
On public holidays both run reduced hours, and the liquor store publishes a slightly different pattern again, at 09:00 to 16:00 on weekday, Saturday and Sunday holidays. Liquor may not be sold to anyone under eighteen and identification can be required at the till regardless of how old you look.
Parent organisation
Both outlets sit within Makro, part of the Massmart group. A complaint about a liquor sale is not the same as a complaint about groceries: goods and service complaints go to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud on 0860 000 272, while a complaint about the conduct of a licensed liquor outlet, such as selling outside permitted hours or to a minor, is a matter for the provincial liquor authority that issued the licence.
