Imperial recruitment fraud warning

Imperial publishes this on its own careers page. It is the clearest test of whether a job offer using the Imperial name is genuine.

• Imperial states its recruitment process does not include unsolicited offers of employment
• It does not require advance payments from candidates
• It will contact you only if you applied through the careers website or its LinkedIn page, or if you were contacted by authorised recruitment personnel or a local recruiting office
• It will not ask you to send personal banking information by email
• Suspected fraud can be reported to careers@imperiallogistics.com, and Imperial also encourages reporting it to local law enforcement

Applying, and what to have ready

• Apply against a specific vacancy on the careers site rather than emailing a CV cold, since applications are tracked against a role
• Imperial describes a workforce of around 25,000 people across 25 countries, so state clearly which country and business unit you are applying to
• The two application streams are Logistics Africa and Market Access, and Logistics International. Choosing the wrong one slows the application down
• Existing employees with payroll, leave or contract queries should use their internal HR channel rather than the public careers mailbox

Escalation route

• For an application with no response, follow up through the careers mailbox quoting the vacancy reference and the date you applied
• For matters other than recruitment, Imperial publishes role mailboxes for its ESG team at esg@imperiallogistics.com and its corporate social investment team at csi@imperiallogistics.com
• An employment dispute can be referred to the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration, using the contact details published on the CCMA website
