Nedbank does not publish a separate direct number for home loans in Johannesburg. Its home loan FAQ gives national numbers: the home loans call centre on 0860 555 111, the Nedbank Contact Centre on 0800 555 111, and 0860 553 573 if you are struggling to pay your bond. These numbers apply to the whole country. Nedbank’s contact page lists no separate Johannesburg home loans office or direct line, so Johannesburg bondholders use the same numbers.

Nedbank’s branch locator does not list a branch at 100 Main Street. The Main Street branch it lists is Nedbank Fox Street, at 82 Main Street on the corner of Simmonds Street. The locator does not show branch phone numbers, so for home loan and personal loan queries use the national numbers above. You can apply for a further loan or readvance at any branch.
Common home loan requests
- Change your debit date: call 0860 555 111 at any time.
- Further loan or readvance: apply online, at a branch, or on 0800 555 111. A readvance gives you access to the part of the loan you have already paid off, with a minimum of R1,000 per withdrawal.
- Selling your home: give Nedbank 90 days’ notice (a termination notice) on 0800 555 111, the Money app or Online Banking. The notice is valid for 12 months.
- Cancelling a paid-up bond: the bond is not cancelled automatically. Instruct Nedbank on 0800 555 111 or in the app, and pay the attorney’s cancellation fees. Until you do, the account stays open and the monthly service fee is still charged.
- DebiCheck mandates: approve them at an ATM, in the Money app, on Online Banking, by dialling *120*001#, or on 0860 555 111.
Buying a repossessed property and insuring your home
To check whether a Nedbank-owned (repossessed) property in Johannesburg is still available, Nedbank’s FAQ says to call the Contact Centre on 0800 555 111. If the property has already been sold, the team will help you find another one. Viewings of secured properties are arranged through the property management company. Once the final disbursement on your loan has been made, you must have homeowner’s insurance on the property. If you are insured through Nedbank Insurance, claims go to 0860 333 111. Otherwise, contact your own insurer.
How home loan interest works
Nedbank’s FAQ says interest is calculated daily on the outstanding balance and debited to the home loan account each month. There are no restrictions on extra payments into your home loan account. Your first instalment is deducted in the month after the bond is registered, on the payment date you chose.
