Verified 16 September 2026Official source onlyIndependent directoryReport a wrong number

For an existing Standard Bank bond, the number Standard Bank gives is 0860 123 001 (general home loan enquiries), with email to personalbankinghomencar@standardbank.co.za. Borrowing more against the bond, through a re-advance or an additional bond, runs through 0860 500 000 on weekdays from 8am to 5pm. We took these details from standardbank.co.za, including the existing home loan pages, the contact directory and the 2026 Home Loans pricing guide, on 16 September 2026.

ContactDetails.co.za is an independent directory. We are not Standard Bank and cannot see your bond balance, issue a cancellation figure or release a title deed.

Standard Bank’s physical address on its website is 5 Simmonds Street, Selby, Johannesburg, 2001, but it does not publish a walk-in bond or home loan office. Personal detail changes on a home loan are done at a branch. No separate opening hours are given for 0860 123 001.

Product or service support

Much of the bond admin no longer needs a call. In the Standard Bank app you can see recent transactions and tax certificates, open your home loan documents, and extend the loan, cancel it or give notice that you are selling the property.

Getting money out of the bond. Standard Bank offers three routes, and they cost different amounts:

  • AccessBond: money you paid in above your instalment can be drawn again once the home loan is linked to a Standard Bank bank, savings or business account. Transfers are made at ATMs or on online banking in multiples of R1 000, electronic transfers to and from the facility are free, and cash deposit fees apply. You choose whether extra payments reduce your instalment or stay available.
  • Re-advance: borrow all or part of the original loan amount again without registering another bond.
  • Additional bond: a new bond is registered over the property, and bond registration costs apply only to this option. For building work you may be asked for approved plans and detailed quotes, and additions must meet National Homebuilders Registration Council rules.

Selling while the bond is running. EasySell Home Loans is Standard Bank’s private sale programme for bond clients who plan to sell. You stay in control of the sale, and clients who are struggling with repayments may qualify for help with costs such as compliance certificates and estate agent commission. You register through the call-back form on the EasySell page.

Eligibility, account or policy requirements

The 2026 Home Loans pricing guide sets out the rules that most often surprise bond holders:

  • Early cancellation: to close the bond before the end of its term you must give 90 days’ notice in writing or on the Banking App. Without valid notice, Standard Bank charges 90 days’ pro-rata interest on the outstanding balance.
  • Monthly service fee by account type: R69 for loans taken out after 6 May 2016, R57.50 for loans between 1 June 2007 and 6 May 2016, R5.75 for usury accounts of R500 000 or less from before 1 June 2007, R57.50 for larger pre-2007 loans, R340 for Liberator facilities and R240 for company, close corporation or trust accounts.
  • Old agreements: on a bond signed before 1 June 2007, a material change such as a new rate (other than base rate moves), a different loan amount or term, an added facility or a voluntary restructure changes both the service fee and the total instalment.
  • Initiation fee on a further loan: R6 037.50 for individuals, charged on the first further loan where the original bond was registered before 1 June 2007.

An AccessBond needs a Standard Bank home loan and a Standard Bank bank, savings or business account.
