Standard Private Banking Contact Details

Verified 16 September 2026Official source onlyIndependent directoryReport a wrong number

Standard Bank Private Banking clients call the Private Client Centre on 0860 123 101, or +27 10 824 1512 from outside South Africa, and email privatebanking@standardbank.co.za. If you want to open a Private Banking account, Standard Bank asks you to use its call-back form, the Banking App or a branch rather than a sales number. We read these details on standardbank.co.za, including the Private Banking Account page and the 2026 Private Banking pricing guide, on 16 September 2026.

ContactDetails.co.za is an independent directory. We are not Standard Bank, we cannot open or view a Private Banking account, and we cannot put you in touch with a named banker.

Standard Bank describes the Private Client Centre as available 24/7. One detail does not match across its pages: the contact directory and the pricing guide give +27 10 824 1512 for international Private Banking calls, but the “Need help” panel on the Private Banking Account page shows +27 10 824 1517, which the directory lists as the Prestige Banking number. We lead with 1512 because two sources agree on it.

Product or service support

Standard Bank sells Private Banking alongside its Prestige, Professional and Signature Banking tiers. What sets it apart in the 2026 pricing guide is personal service: a dedicated Relationship Banker and Transactional Banker, access to Standard Bank financial planners and fiduciary specialists through that banker, and offshore savings and investment experts. The guide points day-to-day banking queries to the Private Client Centre, while advice, credit and investment conversations go to your banker.

The 2026 pricing guide lists what the monthly fee bundles: a Platinum credit card (subject to a credit assessment), a complimentary Offshore Platinum Optimum account that Standard Bank values at £240 a year, 50% off a spouse or partner’s account fee, a (sum)1 Account with no monthly fee for a child under 16, unlimited electronic transactions and free payment notifications. Travel benefits such as airport lounge visits depend on using the qualifying credit card and meeting spend criteria, so ask your banker to confirm them for your account before you travel.

Eligibility, account or policy requirements

On 16 September 2026 Standard Bank listed a monthly account fee of R490 and a minimum income of R58 000 a month for Private Banking. To apply you need:

  • a South African ID, or a passport if you are not a South African citizen;
  • proof of income;
  • proof of residence not older than three months.

There are three ways to start. Complete the “Call me back” form on the Private Banking Account page; visit a branch with the documents above; or open the Banking App, tap “Open an Account”, choose “Everyday Banking”, select “Private Banking” and submit your details. In each case a Private Banker contacts you to finish the application. Standard Bank does not publish a separate phone number for new Private Banking applications, so 0860 123 101 is best kept for existing clients.

The pricing guide carries Standard Bank’s warning that it will never ask for personal information over the phone or send links to a site where you must enter Internet Banking details. Treat any caller who asks for your PIN, password or one-time PIN as a scam, even if they say they are your banker.

Escalation route

  1. Raise the problem with your Private Banker or the Private Client Centre first, and note who you spoke to and when.
  2. If it is not fixed, log it with the Standard Bank Complaints Resolution Centre on 0860 101 101 or complaint.resolutioncentre@standardbank.co.za. The bank says you get a reference number and a case manager within 24 hours.
  3. If you disagree with the outcome, email the reference number to the Specialised Complaints Escalation Centre at ComplaintsEscalations@standardbank.co.za.
  4. A banking dispute that is still unresolved goes to the National Financial Ombud Scheme on 0860 800 900 or info@nfosa.co.za; a complaint about financial advice goes to the FAIS Ombud at info@faisombud.co.za. Standard Bank notes that ombuds usually expect a complaint within four to six months of its final answer.

Accounts are held with The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited (Reg. No. 1962/000738/06), an authorised financial services provider (FSP 11287) and registered credit provider (NCRCP15). The physical address Standard Bank prints on its website is 5 Simmonds Street, Selby, Johannesburg, 2001.
