To change your SASSA contact, personal or banking details, use the SASSA Services portal at services.sassa.gov.za, or call the SASSA toll-free grant enquiries line on 0800 60 10 11 for help. The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) pays social grants, and changing your details on a grant record is done through its change-of-circumstances process.

Official SASSA change of details route
The official route is the SASSA Services portal. Once logged in, you select the grant you want to manage and the portal shows the change-of-circumstances options allowed for that grant. You pick the change you need and complete the form.
Your own user details on the portal, such as your cellphone number, are changed under “Manage My Personal Information”. SASSA confirms the change with an OTP sent to your cellphone.
What you need before contacting
- Your cellphone, to receive the OTP that confirms registration and changes.
- Proof of banking details: three months’ bank statements, or a letter from your bank if the account is newer.
- Supporting documents certified by a commissioner of oaths. SASSA requires all uploaded documents to be certified.
- For payment into a bank account, the “Consent Form for Bank Payment” from the SASSA Services download centre.
Step-by-step contact process
- Register or log in on the SASSA Services portal at services.sassa.gov.za. An OTP confirms registration.
- From Home, select the grant, choose the change-of-circumstances option and complete the form.
- Upload certified supporting documents, for example three months’ bank statements or a bank letter for new banking details.
- For bank payment, complete the Consent Form for Bank Payment from the download centre.
