Openserve is the wholesale network infrastructure division of Telkom. Before you go further, the single most useful fact about contacting Openserve is this: if you are a home or business fibre customer, Openserve is almost certainly not who you should be contacting. Its customers are internet service providers, not the public. The contact routes below were read from the Openserve website on 31 August 2026.
Official contact channels
- General information: [email protected]
- Infrastructure enquiries: [email protected]
- Website content updates: [email protected]
- Telkom business: [email protected]
Openserve publishes mailboxes rather than a public consumer call centre number, which is consistent with a wholesale business. The infrastructure address is the route for enquiries about network build, ducting, poles or damage to physical infrastructure – including reporting a cable being dug up or a damaged distribution box.
What this organisation provides
Openserve builds and operates fixed-line network infrastructure – copper, fibre and the exchanges and transmission behind them – and sells access to it wholesale. Internet service providers buy that access and resell it to you as a fibre or DSL package.
That layered arrangement is what confuses people. Your line may physically run over the Openserve network while your account, your router, your billing and your support all sit with a different company. If your fibre is down, your ISP is the one who must log the fault with Openserve on your behalf; Openserve will not accept a fault report directly from an end customer, and contacting them directly usually adds delay rather than removing it.
So: contact your ISP first, ask them to log the fault with Openserve, and ask for the Openserve reference number they receive. That reference is what lets you track progress and prove the fault was reported on a given date.
Address and operating information
Openserve does not publish a street address for customer visits or operating hours on its contact page. It is a wholesale operation without a retail counter, and its website carries coverage checking so you can establish whether a given address is served by the Openserve network at all.
Note that Openserve forms part of Telkom, so the [email protected] address it publishes is the route for business connectivity sales rather than an Openserve wholesale matter. For Telkom retail services – a Telkom fibre or mobile account – use Telkom customer service on 081 180 instead.
Support and escalation routes
Escalate through your ISP, not around it. Ask for the Openserve fault reference, the date it was logged, and the expected resolution timeframe. If your ISP cannot produce a reference, that usually means the fault has not actually been logged with Openserve, which is itself the problem worth raising.
Where an ISP fails to resolve a prolonged outage, the complaint is against the ISP, since that is who you contracted with:
- ICASA: 012 568 3000, [email protected]
Damage to physical network infrastructure is a different matter, and [email protected] is the correct route for that – for example if construction work has severed a cable or a distribution cabinet has been vandalised in your area.
