Liberty does not publish a separate telephone number for life cover alone: life policies are serviced through the Retail Contact Centre on 0860 456 789. Note that 0800 204 547 is not a Liberty customer service line. Liberty lists it as the independent Deloitte Whistleblowing Hotline for reporting suspected fraud, corruption or misconduct involving Liberty, and says reports are handled confidentially and whistleblowers are protected.

How to claim on a Liberty Life policy
Liberty’s How to Claim page says you can submit a claim through its digital claims submission form: register to log a claim online, or log in to digital claims. You can view and upload the required documents as you go, and if you do not have everything to hand, you can come back later to finish the claim. The digital form handles these claim types: funeral; death (non-retirement products); death (retirement annuity); critical illness or dread disease; and disability or impairment. Liberty life cover: key benefits
According to Liberty’s Life Cover page, there is no set maximum cover amount; the final amount is set through financial underwriting. Minimum cover is R100,000, for a principal life assured (health assessment required) and a spouse (married or in a registered union), both with an entry age of 15 to 80 and no waiting period. You choose between whole life and term cover. Benefits Liberty lists include an Immediate Expenses Benefit that can pay your family up to R100,000 within 48 hours of the life assured’s death, a Funeral Benefit of up to R100,000, a Terminal Illness Benefit that pays the full sum assured early, the EduCator Benefit that pays tuition fees directly to educational institutions, a Death Income feature that adds a monthly income for beneficiaries, and a Wellness Bonus of up to 40% of premiums back in cash. How to complain to Liberty
Log a complaint through the Complaints option on Liberty’s contact page or its Complaints Resolution Procedure page. To speed up the resolution, Liberty asks you to have ready: the contract, policy, fund, member or investment numbers affected; what you expect Liberty to do to resolve the issue; your contact details; any Liberty correspondence about it, such as letters or quotations; the names of the people you have dealt with and the dates and times of those contacts; and any event that triggered the complaint.
