Some websites list 0800 204 547 as a general Liberty toll-free number. On Liberty’s contact page, +27 800 204 547 is the independent Deloitte Whistleblowing Hotline for reporting fraud and unethical behaviour, not the customer service line.
Liberty self-service: MyLiberty and WhatsApp
Liberty says MyLiberty lets you skip the queue: you can view your portfolio, download policy documents and tax certificates, and update your details online, anytime. Log in at myliberty.liberty.co.za. Liberty on WhatsApp, on the 0860 456 789 number, offers self-service access at any time to policy documents, claims, tax certificates, your financial adviser’s details, funeral quotes and STASH. Employers and members with Liberty Corporate benefits have a separate Corporate Benefits Self-Service Portal at lcportal.liberty.co.za. Liberty’s contact page also has a call-back form: choose what you would like to speak about, such as life cover, income protection, retirement or medical aid cover, and a Liberty financial adviser calls you back.
Liberty claims contact number and how to claim
Liberty’s claims line is the same general enquiries and claims number, 0860 456 789, or info@liberty.co.za. Its How to Claim page lets you submit funeral, death (non-retirement products), retirement annuity death, critical illness or dread disease, and disability or impairment claims online with a digital form: you upload documents as you go, can save your progress and return later, and can track the claim online or get updates by email. You can also download the claimant’s statement or claim form, sign it, and submit it with the required documents by email or post. Income protection claims use a downloadable claimant’s statement, and Liberty asks you to answer every question rather than writing N/A. Medical Lifestyle hospital plan claims go to hchelp@liberty.co.za or 0860 456 789.
Liberty complaints
Liberty’s Complaints Resolution Procedure page has a Log a complaint option. To speed up the process, Liberty asks you to have ready the policy, contract, fund, member or investment numbers affected, what you expect Liberty to do to resolve it, your contact details, any Liberty correspondence such as letters or quotations, the names of people you have dealt with, and the dates and times of those contacts. Its contact page also offers separate routes to send compliments, complaints and queries.
Liberty offices and financial advisers
Liberty’s contact page includes a Find Us locator listing financial adviser offices around South Africa, searchable by province and city, with each practice’s address, phone number and office hours, typically weekdays only. Use it, or Liberty’s Find a Financial Adviser tool, to reach a local adviser. Liberty also operates in Botswana, Kenya, Lesotho, Namibia, Swaziland (Eswatini), Uganda and Zambia through its own country websites.
Which Liberty business do you need?
Liberty’s site groups its products into three areas. Personal insurance covers critical illness, disability, income protection, life cover, estate planning and gap cover, and personal investments cover retirement saving, investing for income, offshore and education investments, and STASH. Business products, including umbrella fund, investment, group risk, consulting and actuarial solutions, and business assurance, sit with Liberty Corporate on 011 558 2999.
