Activate customers can log the claim in the Activate App.

How to submit an Absa Insurance claim online

  • Self-service portal (insurance.absa.africa/iss): log in with your ID or passport number, open My claims, enter the details, upload any supporting photos and submit. Absa sends updates by email and on the portal.
  • Absa Banking App: tap the Insurance hub at the bottom of the home screen, choose the policy, tap Claim and follow the prompts.
  • Absa Online: open the Insurance hub on the home screen, select the product and click Claim.
  • Activate App (Activate customers only): tap Claims, then Log claim next to the item, answer the questions and submit to get a claim number.

The self-service portal covers car insurance, building insurance, portable possessions and Absa idirect car insurance. As well as submitting and tracking claims, it lets you download your policy schedule, confirmation of cover and tax certificates, pay arrears in real time, add cover items, and request emergency assistance, Take-Me-Home services or car hire.
